The MUST HAVE Travel APPS in 2019
today I’m going to be giving you my top 5 travel related apps for 2019 now I’ve actually done a top 4 travel related apps back in 2018 but they’ve completely changed now and I’ve got some really good recommendations, but not many of you will have heard of.
So if you do find this blog useful at any point be sure to let me know by leaving a comments or any of your top travel apps down below in the comment section.
let’s just jump straight into my top 5 Travel ops of 2019, just a quick disclaimer before we do actually jump into these apps, I am in no way affiliated sponsored anything like that by any of them these are just
My recommendations on apps that I find useful and I wanted to share with you guys so again no sponsorship no affiliation to any of these just really useful apps let’s just jump into.
App Number One : Trover
So the first one I’m pretty sure you won’t have heard of, it’s called trover I believe that’s how you pronounce it anyway and basically it’s put this up into the most simple same as possible it’s basically a photo app where you upload photos anywhere in the world from all travelers can do this you just go to sign up create an account and then you just put the location,
the reason why I love this up is because especially forMe as a photographer or whatever I want to go to some of the best photography or best scenic places wherever I am so I just go on this upType in where I am and it will just show me pictures of places the people have taken photos off on their exact location.
So if I see somewhere that looks really cool especially in Southeast Asia or it’s quite difficult to actually get the exact location of most places you can literally just see where this is.
App Number Two : polar steps
the next up it is calledpolar steps and whilst I haven’t actually used this app while traveling I’ve seen so many people actually using it and it’s just getting raved about especially this year so I’ve actually downloaded that and I will be using it in my travels coming up on thistrip and basically again just to put the app in the most simple terms.
it’s basically an app that runs on the background and do not worry it only uses 4% of your battery each day so it’s not too big of a difference you know if it’s just struck and where you are and basically it doesn’t take any your information doesn’t take anything from you it literally just tracks your location so then it puts it onto a map where you’ve traveled so I’ll show you a bit of a route and you can add photos
And add comments and people can follow you and just talk about your route that you’ve taken.
so if I travel throughout Vietnam I can then go on to the app at the end of the trip and it will show me the exact route that I’ve taken and obviously if I’ve got any photos and stuff like that they can also be put in there just to give you an easier way of sharing them with friends and obviously you can just see what all the routes people have done.
App Number Three : XE Currency
now the next up is quite straightforward that’s called XE Currency
see you’ve probably been on the website but they do actually have an app and I feel like the app is so much more handy than the websites because what you can actually do is you can put your currency and there are loads of different currencies that you might need to say you’re doing a trip like myself through Vietnam Thailand Philippines Indonesia.
so then I can put British pounds and then all em currencies below it literally tells me what one pounds equates to in each of those
currencies and the exchange rate so if you’re ever abroad and you’re getting offered an aweful exchange rate you can just check it and think that’s not too great I’ll go somewhere else or if you’re not too sure on prices especially when you arrive in a new country you can literally just type in so even if you wants to withdraw a hundred pounds, you can literally type in a hundred pounds on this up click done and then it’ll
tell you what you should roughly be gun and obviously commercial rates aren’t exactly always the same but as long as it’s around that price then you know exactly what you’re going to be paying and they’re just really handy for literally every situation where you’re using a foreign currency especially if you’re in Southeast Asia where the currencies are a bit crazy like for example 100 pounds literally equates to nearly 2 million Indonesian Rupiah. So it’s really tough to figure out commercial rates and stuff like that when the currency is so crazy so it’s just a really useful app to have especially when you’re traveling in 2019.
App Number Four : Rome To Rio
now my next recommendation is an app that I’ve used quite a lot and I might have mentioned it quite a lot but I haven’t actually don’t have full on tour and it is called Rome to Rio now this app is also websites but it’s just it’s the best app that I feel like everyone needs to have.
because it basically just tells you the best methods of getting from place to place and it doesn’t matter how rural or how like low-key the places it’s really good for Southeast Asia.
I’ll literally tell you if you need to get a boss a minivan a jeepney anything like that wherever you are it will give you the route how long it should take and the prices and when things run, so if it only runs on a Tuesday at 3 p.m.
It will tell you that it only runs on Tuesday at 3 p.m. so you can literally just put anything in so I’m just gonna go for Hanoi and then let’s just put supper because that will be a trip that I am doing you click search if you’re doing it on the website it will actually load through broken come as well four places in that area but you can just don’t take that if you don’t want to any recommendations on accommodation and Rome to Rio you’ll see that it literally says.
The recommended option is a boss it takes six hours and a cost around apound, you can get a train which is eight hours 25 minutes cost a bit more you can drive in 3 hours 26 minutes you can get private transfer and there’s usually a lot more options like that and then once you click on it does actually give you the different type of bosses.
So there’s like a seven o’clock boss at 7:30 boss and at M p.m. boss so there’s all different types of ones that will tell you the company if you don’t want to actually book online, you can just go and then see the company where they’re located it’s really handy app and as I said it works anywhere. so it can be the most rural places and it will actually get the right information for you so it’s very useful to download this up especially if you’re troubling again places like Southeast Asia or South America.
App Number Five : MO MONDO
the final up is a flight search engine mo mondo I’m not too sure if I’ve got that right Brits it’s probably completely wrong but you guys will probably know the websites but they do actually have an app and the reason why I mentioned this is because I’ve always used Sky scanner.
I still use sky sell there for initial searches but this is a great app for if you’re on the move and you just kind of want to get a guide as to prices on certain places because I should be able to see on the up right now I’m searching for Saigon or Ho Chi Minh City to Manila and the great feature about this is you can sign in you can put all your flights in there under my trips and it will actually give you alerts about whether.
Your flights delayed and if I’m like that with your flights on time just updates about your flight if you want to bookmark a specific flight you can get alerts on when the prices drop and the prices going up just so you can get the right price for your flight, but the best feature in my opinion is this where you click the little button in the center and it gives you a price calendar and you can literally scroll between three and four months so you don’t have to keep changing the month on the screen.
you can literally scroll right through here from the 1st of March right through to the end of May and it’ll show you the prices you can literally click on each date and it will tell you how much flights are and you can just see where the cheapest prices and then once you’ve decided on which date you want to go for you literally click select this date and then you hit search and it’ll bring you all the different flight options that are available on that specific date and as I said you can then bookmark them if you want to get price updates price alerts just for any cheaper options.
this app also those car hire and hotel so if you want to do similar things for that if you want to monitor a hotel price you just do the exact same thing and if you want to look at a price Carla exactly the same so really unique and useful search engine for hotels and flights.
So I highly recommend that you do actually download this up if you’re Traveling in 2019 but that is all for the apps in this blog.
